David Whiteley (born 4 May 1977 - Essex, England) is the presenter of the BBC TV documentary programme Inside Out - East. Whiteley was born in Essex and started his career working for the commercial radio station Essex FM in 1995 as a broadcast journalist. During this time he was a finalist in the New York radio festival. In 1998 he moved to BBC Essex in Chelmsford where he read the breakfast news bulletins and was a reporter. He won a bronze Gillard award for broadcasting.
