David Trevor Shutt, Baron Shutt of Greetland, OBE, PC is a British Liberal Democrat politician. David Shutt was educated at Pudsey Grammar School and subsequently became an accountant. In 1975 he became a director of the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, of which he later became Chairman. He also became a Trustee of the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust. In 1973 he was elected to Calderdale MBC as a Liberal councillor, and later represented the Liberal Democrats on this council.

David stood unsuccessfully for Parliament seven times between 1970 and 1992. He was awarded the OBE in 1993, and in 2000 he entered the House of Lords as a life peer - Baron Shutt of Greetland, of Greetland and Stainland in the County of West Yorkshire. He was Liberal Democrat International Development spokesperson in the Lords until 2002. He is currently Chief Whip.
