David M. Oshinsky (born 1944) is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American historian; he currently holds the Jack S. Blanton chair in history at the University of Texas at Austin and is a distinguished scholar in residence at New York University. Oshinsky graduated from Cornell in 1965 and obtained his PhD from Brandeis University in 1971. He won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize in History for his 2005 book, Polio: An American Story.
