Dr. David B. Fogel (born February 2, 1964), is a pioneer in evolutionary computation. Dr. Fogel received his Ph.D. in engineering from the University of California, San Diego in 1992. He is currently CEO of Natural Selection, Inc. He is probably best known for his research project, Blondie24, in which a machine evolved itself into an expert checkers player. Dr. Fogel was the founding editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, and general chairman for the 2002 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence.
