I august 1909 begynte flyprodusenten Vickers Company å anlegge en flytripe ved Joyce Green. Den ble brukt i forbindelse med selskapets fabrikker med Bexleyheath, Crayford og Erith. Ved Ebbsfleet blir det bygget en moderne stasjon for høyhastighetstog som skal brukes av pendlere mellom St. Pancras i London, Brussel og Paris fra 2007. Man regner da med at Eurostars rute fra Waterloo jernbanestasjon vil legges ned, da den ikke er kostnadseffektiv nok.
