  • The Darjah Utama Nila Utama (Order of Nila Utama) is Singapore's third most important national honour and was instituted in 1975. There are 3 grades of the Order of Nila Utama: the First Class, consisting of the Badge and the Star of the Order the Badge is to be worn on the right hip from a sash passing over the left shoulder and under the right arm, and the Star is to be worn on the left side of the outer garment the Second Class, consisting of the Badge and the Star of the Order the Badge is to be worn suspended round the neck from a ribbon, and the Star is to be worn on the left side of the outer garment the Third Class, consisting of the Badge of the Order the Badge is to be worn suspended round the neck from a ribbon. The Order is conferred by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister. Recipients of the honour are entitled to use the post-nominal letters DUNU.
