Ramiro Guerra moulded Danza Contemporanea’s repertoire into a Cuban blend of modern American theatre, Afro-Caribbean dance styles and classical European Ballet. Unlike ballet, the Danza Contemporanea modern development was entwined with folklore. Nous under the direction of Miguel Iglesias, Danza Contemporane de Cuba offers its dancers great opportunities. Miguel Iglesias was born in Havana on May 10 1948, he started dancing with the company in 1975 before becoming its director. With more than 70 productions in its active repertoire, Danza Contemporanea de Cuba has toured throughout America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
