- Daitō Islands (大東諸島 Daitō Shotō; formerly the Borodino Islands) are three islands which lie about 217 miles east of Okinawa. - Die Daitō-Inseln, früher Borodino-Inseln, sind 3 kleine Koralleninseln in der Philippinensee im nordwestlichen Pazifischen Ozean, etwa 360 km östlich von Okinawa gelegen. Sie gehören verwaltungsmäßig zum Landkreis Shimajiri-gun der Präfektur Okinawa. Geographisch und geologisch jedoch gehören sie nicht zu den Okinawa-Inseln. Die drei Inseln heißen: Minami-daitō : 1358 Einwohner (2006), 30,6 km², 25° 50′ 34″ N, 131° 14′ 26″ O25.8427777778131.240555556 Kita-daitō : etwa 680 Einwohner, 13,10 km², 25° 56′ 34″ N, 131° 18′ 30″ O25.9427777778131.308333333 Oki-daitō : unbewohnt, 1,147 km², 24° 28′ 2″ N, 131° 11′ 16″ O24.4672222222131.187777778 Nur die ersten beiden Inseln sind bewohnt. Die Insel Oki-daitō, 150 km südlich von Minami-daitō, war im 2. Weltkrieg ein Militärstützpunkt, der heute aber verlassen ist. Der Namen Borodino-Inseln bekamen die Inseln von dem russischen Schiff Borodino, das sie 1820 fand und ihre Position korrekt festlegte. Die Inseln waren damals unbewohnt. Die Besiedlung durch Japaner begann erst 1899. Hanemon Tamaoki von der Insel Hachijō erreichte mit einige Pionieren nach 60-tägiger Fahrt die Inseln und begann mit der Urbarmachung. Sie pflanzten neben Lebensmitteln vor allem Zuckerrohr, der auch heute das Hauptexportgut der Inseln darstellt. Das Trinkwasser für die Insel wird von einer Meerwasserentsalzungsanlage geliefert.
- 断崖で囲まれた南大東島海岸 大東諸島（だいとうしょとう）は、沖縄諸島の東部にある島嶼群。北大東島、南大東島及び沖大東島から成る。行政区分は北大東島及び沖大東島が沖縄県島尻郡北大東村、南大東島が同郡南大東村である。 明治時代に開拓団が入植するまでは、全島が無人島であった。歴史については、上記各島の記事を参照されたい。

As ilhas Daito, também conhecidas por ilhas Borodino, são um grupo de três pequenas ilhas japonesas, com uma área total de 44,457 km² e 2 100 habitantes (2004), sitas a sudoeste do Japão. Apesar de distantes, as ilhas Daito são consideradas como o grupo insular leste das ilhas da prefeitura de Okinawa, a que administrativamente pertencem. Apesar de conhecidas pelo menos desde o século XVI, as ilhas permaneceram desabitadas até finais do século XIX, altura em que nelas se instalaram colonos japoneses.
- Daitoöarna (japanska Daitō-rettō eller Daitō-shotō, tidigare Borodino Islands) är en ögrupp bland Ryukyuöarna i nordvästra Stilla havet som tillhör Japan.
- 大東群島（日文：大東諸島、平假名：だいとうしょとう、英文：Daito Islands）是琉球列島中，位於沖繩群島東方約340公里的島嶼群；包括北大東島、南大東島及沖大東島，因為島嶼數目不多，常被當作沖繩群島的子群島，但也有將其視為獨立群島的分類。行政劃分上北大東島及沖大東島屬於日本沖繩縣島尻郡北大東村，南大東島屬於同郡的南大東村。 全島原為無人島，直到明治時代開拓團進入後才開始有人居住。
