- DJ Balli is the performing name of the Italian based breakcore artist Riccardo Balli. With a past as a drummer in the straight edge hardcore band "Isotopi del Dolore" and as a noise musician in the "S.E.B. " plunderphonics collective, at the beginning of the '90s Dj Balli lost interest for music to concentrate on writing. More solid result of this shift, the book in Italian language "Anche Tu Astronauta" (1998) about the Association of Autonomous Astronauts. Few years later in the 2000, the reconciliation with music came via the A.A.A. itself with the release of three tracks on the "Rave In Space" compilation cd. The year 2000 was also when he started his own label Sonic Belligeranza and began DJing more regularly. Bored with the average DJs, standing and playing one record after the other, Balli got involved into the more "adventurous" turntablism, melting his crab, flare and chirp scratch with digital glitch from the lap-top. In the year 2004 in response to the cliché indulged by of most of the breakcore sound he launched the two sublabels +Belligeranza and -Belligeranza dedicated to enrich his own (and hopefully many others djs one... ) set with, respectively, distorted frequencies and vinyl extravaganza. To hear it from his own words: "Modern, liberated, contemporary, of a broad spectrum, experimental, stress-relieving, post-organic, vegetative, intelligent, extraordinary. These are adjectives often applied to electronic dance music, with Dj Balli things are different". - DJ Balli est le nom de scène de l'artiste breakcore italien Riccardo Balli. Avec un passé de batteur dans un groupe straight edge hard-core "Isotopi du Dolore" et de noisicien dans le collectif "SEB", au début des années 90 Dj Balli perdit tout intérêt pour la musique et se concentra sur l'écriture. Le principal résultat de ce changement fut le livre, en italien, « Anche Tu Astronauta » (1998) sur l'Association des Astronautes Autonomes, A.A.A. (des extraits de cet pamphlet se trouvent dans l'anthologie en langue française "Quitter La Gravité" 2001, édition de L'éclat). Quelques années plus tard, en 2000, par le biais de l' A.A.A. il se réconcilia avec la musique en réalisant 3 chansons pour la compilation cd « Rave in Space ». L'année 2000 fut aussi celle du lancement de son propre label Sonic Belligeranza et le début d'un djing plus régulier. Lassé de la moyenne des djs, qui restent debout et jouent les disques les un après les autres, Balli s'est impliqué dans un turntablism plus "aventureux", fusionnant les scratch avec les glitch numériques du lap-top. En l'an 2004, en réponse aux sons breakcore devenus pour la plupart cliché, il a lancé les deux sous labels : + Belligeranza et -Belligeranza dédiés à enrichir ses propres (et, espérons-le, ceux de nombreux autres djs ... ) set, avec, respectivement, des fréquences déformées et des extravagances vinyles. Selon ses propres mots:"Moderne, libérée, contemporaine, d'un large spectre, expérimental,d'une relaxation stressante, post-bio, végétale, intelligente,extraordinaire: ces adjectifs sont souvent attribués à la musique électronique dance, avec Dj Balli les choses sont différentes ".
