They have toured the United States with bands such as Minus the Bear, Helio Sequence, and played their record release show for their album "The Cosmic Door" with John Vanderslice in 2006. They are most recognized for their intelligent, smooth poppy sound and their work ethic (in releasing their second album only 12 months after their debut album). Casey Foubert has toured with Sufjan Stevens, as Christian Wargo joined Casey Wescott in Fleet Foxes. Crystal Skulls can be thought of as the successor to Wargo's previous band Scientific. Scientific released a few recordings on Burnt Toast Vinyl.
