County Dublin is a county in Ireland. The county contains the city of Dublin, the capital of Ireland, and is located on the east coast of Ireland in the province of Leinster. County Dublin was one of the first of the parts of Ireland to be shired by King John of England following the Norman invasion of Ireland. The population of the county is 1,270,603 according to the 2011 census, making it the most populous county in the country.
