- In the fields of architecture and civil engineering, construction is a process that consists of the building or assembling of infrastructure. Far from being a single activity, large scale construction is a feat of multitasking. Normally the job is managed by the project manager and supervised by the construction manager, design engineer, construction engineer or project architect. For the successful execution of a project, effective planning is essential. Those involved with the design and execution of the infrastructure in question must consider the environmental impact of the job, the successful scheduling, budgeting, site safety, availability of materials, logistics, inconvenience to the public caused by construction delays, preparing tender documents, etc.
- Der Begriff Bauausführung bezeichnet die Phase der Herstellung eines Bauwerks mit Hilfe der Bautechnik. Die einzelnen Schritte der Bauausführung sind im Bauablauf festgelegt und werden mithilfe des Baumanagements organisiert.
- Staveniště je označení pro určitou oblast, ve které se je budována stavba. Termínem staveniště se označuje oblast budování po celou dobu prací, od prvních pozemních prací až po otevření stavby. Staveniště je z pravidla izolováno od okolí plotem, aby se zabránilo průniku nežádoucích osob do zóny staveniště a zamezilo se úrazům. Pohyb na staveništi pro pěšího je nebezpečný a tak jsou nařízeními vyžadovány základní ochranné pomůcky jako je helma, boty, či reflexní vesta. Na staveništi je často používána těžká technika jako je jeřáb, buldozer, bagr. Vedle toho se využívají ruční stroje jako míchačka. Mezi základní pomůcky při stavbě vyšších staveb patří lešení - skládací konstrukce, která umožňuje pohyb pracovníků okolo vznikající stavby.

Como ejemplos tenemos: las construcciones sintácticas o gramaticales, las construcciones musicales, las construcciones mentales, etc. Consecuentemente, la palabra construcción se usa en diversas disciplinas, tanto científicas, técnicas o aplicadas como en las humanidades: la gramática, la pedagogía, la psiquiatría, la teoría del arte, etc.

Per il successo della realizzazione di un'opera il piano generale dell'intervento è essenziale. Questo lega la progettazione architettonica alla costruzione e deve considerare diversi fattori correlati: l'impatto e la sostenibilità ambientale, la tempistica dei lavori, la sicurezza del cantiere, la disponibilità di risorse e materiali, la logistica. Una costruzione può essere rappresentata da una semplice opera muraria da una struttura, da un edificio, da un'opera pubblica. Una costruzione può essere classificata: per diversa tipologia: costruzione in legno, in pietra, in mattoni, in cemento armato, mista per diverse caratteristiche di resistenza e relazione ambientale: leggera, antisismica, bio-architettonica ecc.
