- Conceptions of God can vary widely, despite the use of the same term for them all. The God of monotheism, pantheism or panentheism, or the supreme deity of henotheistic religions, may be conceived of in various degrees of abstraction: as a powerful, human-like, supernatural being, or as the deification of an esoteric, mystical or philosophical category; the Ultimate, the summum bonum, the Absolute Infinite, the Transcendent, or Existence or Being itself; the ground of being, the monistic, that which we cannot understand, etc. Monotheist conceptions of God appear in the Hellenistic period, out of predecessor concepts of monism and henotheism.
- Concepções de Deus podem variar grandemente, apesar de se usar o mesmo termo em todas. O Deus do monoteísmo, panteísmo ou panenteísmo, ou deidade suprema das religiões henoteísticas, podem ser concebidas de vários graus de abstração: Como o todo poderoso, parecido com os humanos, ser sobrenatural, ou como deificação de categoria esotérica, mística ou filosófica; O último, o summum bonum, o infinito absoluto, o transcendente, ou existência ou ser auto existente; O absoluto, o substrato monístico, o qual não podemos entender, etc. Concepções monoteísticas de Deus aparecem no período helenístico, diferente dos conceitos predecessores do monismo (a maioria em religiões Ocidentais) e henoteísmo.
