Civitella in Val di Chiana (official name), often also Civitella di Val di Chiana, is a comune in the province of Arezzo, south of Arezzo in Tuscany, Italy. It is one of the best-preserved of the network of Lombard fortresses of the 6th and the 7th century in central Italy, strategically placed to control the whole territory. The characteristic elliptical shape of the military settlements can still be seen in the layout of the town walls.

- Civitella in Val di Chiana ist eine Gemeinde mit ca. 8.800 Einwohnern in der Toskana und gehört zur Provinz Arezzo. Der eigentliche Ort Civitella mit wenigen hundert Einwohnern liegt auf einer Anhöhe 525 m über dem Meeresspiegel. Die Chiana entspringt im Apennin von Arezzo und mündet bei Orvieto in den Tiber. Die Einwohner leben vorwiegend von der Landwirtschaft und dem Tourismus. Arbeitsplätze gibt es zudem in Arezzo, das etwa eine Autostunde entfernt ist. Das ganze Jahr über finden in der Burgruine Theateraufführungen und Ausstellungen statt, beginnend im Februar mit einem Amateur-Theaterwettbewerb und endend im November mit der Vorstellung des neuen Olivenöls. Die Stadt ist Mitglied der Cittaslow, einer 1999 in Italien gegründeten Bewegung zur Entschleunigung und Erhöhung der Lebensqualität in Städten. Nachbarorte sind: Arezzo, Bucine, Laterina, Monte San Savino, Pergine Valdarno.
