The City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Chorus (CBSYC) in Birmingham, England is a youth choir which performs alone, or in association with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO). The choir was founded in 1994 and comprises two sections: the Junior Youth Chorus (CBSYC Juniors) comprising ages 8 to 12 (girls and boys) and the Senior Youth Chorus (CBSYC Seniors) from 13 to 18 (girls only). However if a junior singer has exceptional talent she is allowed into the seniors at the age of 12.
