The Church of the Province of Uganda (or Church of Uganda) is a member church of the Anglican Communion. Currently there are thirty-one dioceses that make up the Church of Uganda, each one headed by a Bishop. Each diocese is divided into Archdeaconries, each headed by a Senior Priest. The Archdeaconries are further subdivided into Parishes, headed by a Parish Priest. Parishes are subdivided into sub-parishes, headed by Lay Readers.

  • Die Kirchenprovinz Uganda (engl. Church of the Province of Uganda) ist ein Glied der anglikanischen Weltkirchengemeinschaft und hat ihre Ursprünge in den Missionen von 1877. Nachdem sie bereits 1893 ihren ersten einheimischen Kleriker weihen konnte, erlebte sie ein starkes inneres Wachstum, so dass sie 1961 mit Ruanda und Burundi zu einer eigenen Kirchenprovinz wurde. Die beiden letztgenannten Länder wurden im Mai 1980 zu einer eigenständigen Kirchenprovinz, so dass die Kirchenprovinz Uganda heute nur noch aus dem genannten Land besteht. Die Kirchenprovinz umfasst 29 Diözesen: Bukedi, Bunyoro-Kitara, Busoga, Zentral-Buganda, Ost-Ankole, Kampala, Karamoja, Kigezi, Kinkizi, Kitgum, Kumi, Lango, Luwero, Madi und Westnil, Mbale, Mityana, Muhabura, Mukono, Namirembe, Nebbi, Nord-Kigezi, Nord-Mbale, Norduganda, Ruwenzori, Sebei, Soroti, Süd-Ruwenzori, West-Ankole, West-Buganda. An der Spitze der Kirche steht als Primas der Erzbischof von Uganda und Bischof von Kampala. Die Kirchenprovinz Uganda erlaubt Frauenordinationen.
