Christopher C. Cox (August 26, 1816 – November 25, 1882) was a United States politician from Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Cox was a member of the National Union Party, a coalition of the Democrat loyal to the Union and Republicans during the Civil War. Cox served as the first Lieutenant Governor of Maryland from 1865 to 1868, upon creation of the office. It was abolished in 1868 until reinstatement in 1970 when the next Lieutenant Governor, Blair Lee III, was elected.
