Chris Townson was a musician, artist, illustrator and social worker. He is the only drummer ever to replace Keith Moon on a Who tour while Moon was still alive. Townson also played with Marc Bolan in John's Children in the 1960s. In the 1970s, he was a member of the bands Jook and Jet. Following the break-up of Jet, he became an illustrator and later, after returning to study, a social worker.
