Chris Joyce is known for being drummer with different new wave groups and with Simply Red in the 1980's. Coming from Didsbury, Manchester, he adopted the hippie lifestyle. That line-up of the band released only two songs from the first EP of Factory, A Factory Sample, before Joyce, Rowbotham and Bowers quit the band to form another post-punk band around 1979, The Mothmen. The Mothmen released only two studio albums and a number of singles, before disbanding in the 1980's. During his time with The Mothmen, Joyce worked with Pink Military, London Underground and Judy Nylon. By mid-1980's, he was working with The Suns Of Arqa, before forming Simply Red, alongside his bandmate Tony Bowers and singer Mick Hucknall.
