Chris Broach (b. Christopher Robert Broach September 5 1976 in Madison, WI) was one of the guitarists/vocalists in the 90's emo band Braid. Broach became known as the "Yeah" guy because he was often yelling or shouting "Yeah!" during Braid's songs. In August 1994, just before starting his freshman year at The University of Illinois (Champaign/Urbana), Broach went to see Braid play a show at The Red Herring, in Urbana, Illinois.

After the show, he was introduced to Bob Nanna through a mutual friend named Clay Stelzer. When Nanna remarked that they (Braid) were looking for a singer, Stelzer mentioned that Broach was a singer and a guitar player... light bulbs went off in their heads, Broach was introduced to Roy Ewing, the drummer of Braid, and spoke to him at length about influences and the like. By the end of the show, Ewing was walking around introducing Broach to friends as 'the newest member of the band,' much to the surprise of Broach (and probably the rest of the band)... a couple of tryouts later, and a line up change (Broach replaced Pete Havranek on guitar, as well) - and Broach was a member of Braid, recording his guitar parts on the first 7-inch the band ever released a week later...

Diese veröffentlichte auch ein Album auf dem von Chris Broach im Jahr 2002 gegründeten Label Lucid Records. Zur Zeit arbeitet er an einem Soloalbum, welches Anfang 2007 auf Lucid Records erscheinen soll, sowie an einem neuen Album von The Firebird Band (Veröffentlichung ist für das späte Frühjahr 2007 geplant), sowie an einem Projekt in Zusammenarbeit mit der spanischen Band Festa d'Estate (hier steuert Chris Gesang und Gitarre bei). Chris Broach und der ehemalige Hey Mercedes-Gitarrist (der Nachfolgeband von Braid) Mike Schumaker arbeiten gemeinsam an einem neuen Projekt mit dem Titel The Blakhiv. 2006 veröffentlichten sie ihre erste EP auf Lucid Records. Bevor Chris als Gitarrist von Braid große Erfolge verzeichnen konnte war er vornehmlich Vokalist. Zu Schulzeiten sang er für die Bands SacHead, Mondale und Seven Inch. Zur Zeit lebt Chris Broach in Deerfield, Illinois (USA).
