Chichester Dam is a dam in the Hunter Region of New South Wales approximately 21.6 km north of Dungog. It was constructed between 1917 and 1926 as a supply of drinking water for the Hunter Region by damming the Chichester River. The dam contributes about 35 percent of the lower Hunter region's water supply. Its catchment is largely located within the Barrington Tops National Park, and covers 197 km (76.1 sq mi), receiving water from the Chichester and Wangat Rivers.

It was constructed between 1917 and 1926 as a supply of drinking water for the Hunter Region by damming the Chichester River. The dam contributes about 35 percent of the lower Hunter region's water supply. The reservoir holds 21,500 megalitres of water and is connected to reservoirs in Maitland, Cessnock and Newcastle by an 80 km (50 mi) long gravitation main. The wall is 254 m long and 43 m (141 ft) high, using a cyclopean system of interlocking concrete blocks and large boulders. The wall is anchored to the bedrock below it by 93 stressed tendons.
