- Cheonan ist eine Stadt im Nordosten der südkoreanischen Provinz Chungcheongnam-do. Sie liegt rund 85 km südlich der Hauptstadt Seoul, sowie nördlich der Großstadt Daejeon, an die es beide per Straße und Zug angebunden ist. Die normalen Züge der Gyeongbu-Linie halten an der Cheonan-Station, während der KTX an der Cheonan-Asan-Station hält. At the Korail station in the downtown center, the Gyeongbu Line crosses north to south, and the Janghang Line extends to the south-west. Land routes open in all directions, including north to Seoul, west to Asan, south to Gongju and Daejeon, and east to Daegu and Busan.

Chaque automne le festival "Cheonan Heungtaryeong Festival" présente des groupes de danse et de chant, ainsi que des rayons de produits de l'agriculture.
