Everyone were sure of the movie's success, however not to the levels movie grossed. Though not directed by Guru Dutt, the movie has an unmistakable stamp of the maestro! Some of the songs have been immortalized by beautiful lyrics, music and cinematography and are as popular today as they were in the days this movie was released.
