Charlotte Perriand (24 October 1903 – 27 October 1999), was a French architect and designer. Perriand became known at 24 years of age with "Bar Under the Roof" — furniture made out of chromed steel and anodized aluminium. This was presented at the Salon d'Automne of 1927 and was acclaimed by the critics. Shortly afterward, she was invited to begin a collaboration with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, which would last nearly ten years.

Since March 2004, Cassina produces the furniture of Charlotte Perriand.

In ihren Projekten schaffte sie es, grundlegenden Gegenständen des täglichen Lebens neue ästhetische Werte einzuhauchen. Von 1940 bis 1946 hielt sich Charlotte Perriand in Japan auf. Ihr gelang eine Neuinterpretation der Wohnkultur, bei der sie Tradition und Modernität anklingen ließ: ein deutliches Beispiel dafür sind ihre Möbelstücke aus Bambus, die zwar mit einer uralten Verarbeitungstechnik erzeugt wurden, gleichzeitig aber die neuen Formen hervorhoben, mit denen sie schon an den Stahlrohrmöbeln experimentiert hatte. Später konzentrierte sie ihre berufliche Tätigkeit auf eine Reihe origineller und ausgewogener Einrichtungen für Behörden und Unternehmen ersten Ranges, z. B. für Air France oder für die Serie "I Maestri" des Möbelherstellers Cassina.
