Charles Townshend Murdoch (1837 - 8 Jul 1898) was a banker and Conservative politician who represented Reading. Murdoch was a banker and lived at Wokingham. He was elected as Member of Parliament for Reading in 1885 but lost the seat in 1892. He regained the seat in 1895 until his death aged 61 in 1898. His opponents in the elections were members of the Palmer family of Huntley and Palmer biscuits. Murdoch married Sophia Speke in 1862 and had several daughters.
