The college was started in the year 2006 and is a part of the chain of exclusive "national law universities". The first batch will be passing out in the year 2011. The college has gain significant recognition on the national level after winning the " most dignified team" award at the 6th National Law School Parliamentary Debate Competition, organised by NLSIU,Bangalore,which is regarded as one of the prestigious parliamentary debate competition in the subcontinent. The college has also done exceedingly well in the moot court competitions as it has won 4th best memorial in the Philip.C. Jessup national rounds and the Stetson's India rounds
