  • The Canadian Journal of Economics / Revue canadienne d'économique (CJE) is a peer-reviewed journal of economics published quarterly by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the Canadian Economics Association since 1967. Its predecessor was the Canadian Journal of Economics and Political Science, which started publication in 1935. In 1967 the CJE emerged from a split of this journal into an economics journal (the CJE) and a political science journal (the Canadian Journal of Political Science). The CJE is the primary academic economics journal in Canada. While the CJE is the premier outlet for high-quality papers concerning the Canadian economy and policy issues, the editors seek to maintain and enhance the position of the CJE as a major, internationally recognized journal by publishing papers on all economics topics -- theoretical or empirical -- and international in scope. Each year, the CJE publishes the Presidential Address and Innis Lecture from the Annual Meetings of the CEA. A new feature is a series of viewpoint articles published each year, with the objective of providing state-of-the art summaries on topics of general interest to economists. The CEA also offers two prizes for articles published in the CJE: The Harry Johnson Prize (named after the late Canadian economist Harry Gordon Johnson) for the overall best paper, and the Robert Mundell Prize, for the best article by a young economist. Subscription to the journal is tied to membership in the Canadian Economics Association (CEA). The current managing editor of the CJE is Professor David Green (University of British Columbia). He is assisted by a team of four co-editors. The journal can be accessed online through Wiley Interscience and JSTOR. Members of the CEA have full access to the journal through their my. economics. ca members's web site.
