Originally from Dandenong, the band formed in 1991 and performed local gigs for several years before being signed to Sony in 1994. Their debut album was Glide With Me, from which the first two singles "Hook Me Up" and "Hey Girl" were successful. It was the third single, which launched them into the public. The group did a cover song of "Let's Groove" by Earth, Wind & Fire and it reached number 2 on the Australian singles chart in 1995 and selling about 70,000 singles. Glide With Me went on to generate 4 hit singles in total and went platinum. Following the success of Glide With Me, the band announced a fifth single "Freak Show" which was never released. However, the band went on to record songs for Myer shopping centre in 2006 Spirit of Christmas album and for the ABC's Anthems of Australia initiative. A second album, Lifted, was released in 1997 with the lead single "Let It Whip". Jude Nicholas joined the group for this release, replacing Andrew De Silva. The album featured a more pop-oriented sound and was only moderately successful. Initially, Sony announced that there were plans to release the title track Lifted as a single but these plans were later cancelled. The album was later repackaged and released together with another single "So Badd" in an attempt to generate further sales but proved to be unsuccessful. After the album, the band decided to break up in 1999 and concentrate on solo efforts. Since then Gary Pinto has worked on backing vocals for several series of Australian Idol and has worked extensively with Guy Sebastian. Gary co-wrote the theme for World Youth Day 2008, Receive The Power with Guy and penned Behold The Cross which features on the WYD08 Official Soundtrack. In 2006 CDB was asked to reunite to play some charity shows and stayed together. They are to release their new album “The Funk Sessions and a single “PYT” also in 2009. Brad and Gary Pinto have also been back-up singers for the Australian Idol band in 2007 and 2008.
