Depuis cette époque, le château a subi de nombreuses modifications, mais il n'a jamais été détruit et reste la propriété de la même famille, pendant 33 générations. Dès le moyen-âge, trois héritiers se sont partagés le domaine. Chaque lignée a ensuite procédé à de nouvelles constructions, ce qui explique le foisonnement actuel de tourelles et de logis. De nos jours, la visite du château permet de découvrir ses plafonds de bois, ses fresques murales et un mobilier cossu. Une salle à part est consacrée au trésor du château.
