Bruce Michael Alberts is an American biochemist. He is noted particularly for his extensive study of the protein complexes which enable chromosome replication when living cells divide. He was the president of the National Academy of Sciences from 1993 to 2005 and is a trustee of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. He is now the editor in chief of Science.
