Brian Burns is an American film and television writer, producer and director. Brian was born and raised in Long Island, New York (he was raised in the Gibson area of Valley Stream, New York and graduated from Hewlett High School). He is the brother of American filmmaker Edward Burns. Brian, along with his brother, developed That's Life and The Fighting Fitzgeralds, which starred Brian Dennehy and Connie Britton.

Brian and Edward Burns have a production company called Irish Twins, a play on the fact that they are only a year apart in age. Brian Burns' brother Edward Burns, is married to supermodel Christy Turlington. Brian is married to Christy's sister Kelly and together they have a son born in 2008.
