De belangrijkste commentaren op de 'Aryabhatiya' werden op hun beurt het uitgangspunt voor verdere vervolgcommentaren en dit gebeurde ook met de 'Karanaprakasa'. Tot in de zeventiende eeuw verschenen er commentaren op dit werk van Brahmadeva.
