Boundary Peak (13,147 feet) is the highest summit in U. S. state of Nevada and is located in Esmeralda County. The peak is entirely within the state of Nevada, although it is only about half a mile (1 km) from the California border. Montgomery Peak (13,441 feet) is located just across the border in California, and by most definitions Boundary Peak is a sub-peak of Montgomery. Boundary Peak is 82 feet (25 m) higher than the second highest Nevada peak, Wheeler Peak (13,065 feet).
