When in 1991 he signed for freelance project development with major US video game producer, he decided to make a career in music. In order to freely express his feelings for music and to escape from the clichés of his professional assignments Øistein Eide started creating music under the artistic name Boom Jinx. Despite the limited number of releases since 2005, Boom Jinx has developed a well deserved reputation for his complex compositions showing unique nuances. His tracks got support from leading industry names such as Above & Beyond, Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Marco V. The singles "Come Play Perfect" and "Remember September" were highly appreciated by the leading DJ Magazine and URB. Away from the trance music his breakbeat production "Manipulator" was premiered on BBC Radio 1 as a "hot new track" alongside Nelly Furtado, and was also licensed by the hit television show .
