William Frederick "Bones" Ely (June 7, 1863 - January 10, 1952) was a shortstop in Major League Baseball. He was born in North Girard, Pennsylvania. Ely died at the age of 88 in either Berkeley, California or Imola, California. His remains were cremated and placed in the Chapel of the Chimes columbarium in Oakland.
