In their review of Blythe's album Lenox Avenue Breakdown, the editors of The Penguin Guide to Jazz called Stewart's title track solo "one of the few genuinely important tuba statements in jazz."
- Bob Stewart ist ein US-amerikanischer Tubist. In Bands von Charles Mingus, Gil Evans, Carla Bley und Lester Bowie spielte Stewart Tuba. Durch seine perfekten Basslinien konnte z. B. Lester Bowie’s Brass Fantasy auf einen Bassisten verzichten – Bowie lobte ihn immer als „the man who never stops“. Taj Mahal begleitete (The Real Thing 1971).
