Bob Birch is a session bass guitarist, mostly noted for his work with Elton John. When he was growing up, he played the bassoon in addition to bass. Although he majored in the bassoon and music education while attending Wayne State University, his passion and true devotion was with the bass guitar. After graduating from the fine musical institution of Wayne State, he moved to Los Angeles. In 1990 he helped form the rock band Warpipes while playing bass and saxophone.
