The Binnenhof (Dutch, literally "inner court"), is a complex of buildings in The Hague. It has been the location of meetings of the Staten-Generaal, the Dutch parliament, since 1446, and has been the centre of Dutch politics for many centuries. The grounds on which the Binnenhof now stands were purchased by Count Floris IV of Holland in 1229, where he built his mansion, next to the little lake that has been called Hofvijver or 'Court Pond' since the 13th century.

A gilt neogothic fountain adorns the main square and one of the few Dutch equestrian statues guards the main Stadtholder's Gate, that dates from around 1600. A large modern building at the south side of the Binnenhof since 1992 houses the House of Representatives, the lower but more important of the Dutch democratically elected Houses of parliamennt.

La Ridderzaal était le lieu où s'assemblaient les États généraux entre 1446 et 1795 et où la reine prononce chaque année son discours du Trône. C'est à partir de ce moment, mais pour une courte période, que les comtes de Hollande s'y font enterrer. Le Binnenhof était entouré par des canaux et par l'étang de la Hofvijver (l'étang de la cour). Seuls la Hofvijver et un petit bout du canal oriental subsistent aujourd'hui. Faisant partie de l'ensemble, le Buitenhof est ouvert à la circulation. Sur la Hofvijver, sur le côté externe du Binnenhof, se trouve le Torentje (la tourelle), qui est le bureau du Ministre-président des Pays-Bas. Juste de l'autre côté du petit canal, le Mauritshuis, construit en 1640 pour Jean-Maurice de Nassau-Siegen, est aujourd'hui un musée royal. Jean Olden-Barnevelt y a été exécuté en 1619.
