The company was only acting as a broker in the professional market between banks and derivative firms. In October of the same year Binck opened a retail branch for online customers. Major trading firm AOT financed the startup partly, taking a 52% stake, and bought the remaining shares in 2004.

In 2007 Binck bought its main rival in the discount retail brokerage from Rabobank, Alex Beleggingsbank. The shares are listed on Euronext in Amsterdam and are a constituent of the AMX index.
