The name of the band is probably taken from the title of a book by Jean Vautrin, later adapted in to a film on 1985. The music itself usually involves the repeating of an incredibly catchy refrain with melodic rap on top, with influences on electronic rock and reggae. The lyrics of the songs tend to be about drug use. The band's biggest hit Mangez Moi (Eat Me) is about psychedelic mushrooms. OCB was another of the band's hits, and it's about the rolling papers made by that brand. The endgame videoclip in the game MDK is their song Non Non Rien N'a Changé (No No Nothing Has Changed) from the album Paniac.

Le groupe a été attaqué en justice en Octobre 1994 par Christian Verdier, enquêteur de la brigade des stupéfiants de Nantes, pour "incitation à l'usage de stupéfiants". Ils avaient bénéficié d'un non lieu. La chanteuse du groupe est Nathalie Cousin, connue aujourd'hui sous le pseudo d'Artémis. Leur bassiste fut DJ Zebra à l'époque du premier album. Matthieu Chedid fut guitariste sur l'album solo Paniac . Le nom du groupe est inspiré du roman Billy-Ze-Kick de Jean Vautrin dont le titre fait référence au hors-la-loi américain Billy the Kid.
