Strömberg har ett rekord i Guinness rekordbok och 25 svenska rekord hittills och är den ende svenske fridykare med rekord i alla kategorier, samtidigt vid ett tillfälle dessutom. Han blev svensk mästare 2000-2005 och tog tredjeplats respektive andraplats i världsmästerskapen 2001 och 2002. 2006 tävlade Bill för det svenska landslaget som blev femma på VM i Egypten, han var dessutom lagkapten för hela den svenska truppen, dam och herrlag, som blev totalt bästa fridykarnation vid detta VM. Han är president/ordförande i AIDA International (den Internationella Fridykarfederationen) sedan 2005. Bill har dessutom varit Svensk Mästare i simning, detta vid Sim SM i Lindköping 1987.
