He compiled a 212-110-1 college coaching record including 182-53-1 at Widener. Manlove was born in Barrington, New Jersey and graduated Haddon Heights High School in 1951. After serving a stint in the U.S. Army he received a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1958 and a Master's in 1960 from Temple University. He was an assistant coach at Gloucester City, New Jersey High School from 1957-59 and was head coach in 1960-65. He was head coach at Oakcrest High School in 1965-66. In 1967-68 he was assistant coach at Lafayette College. In 1969 he began coaching at Widener (then called PMC Colleges) where he had a 2-7 record the first season. From 1970 to 1991 he never had a losing season and accumulated a 182-53-1 record, two Division III national titles and 10 Middle Atlantic Conference titles. He was Division III Coach of the Year in 1977 when winning his first national title. His team also won in 1981. He was president of the AFCA in 1991. In 1995-97 he was head coach at Delaware Valley College. From 1997 to 2001 he was coach of La Salle University. In 2006 and 2007 he coached the U.S. team in the Aztec Bowl winning both games.
