In accordance with the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009, if the property is donated to the federal government the United States Secretary of the Interior will designate the property as William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Site, a new unit of the National Park System. This change in status was originally proposed by Senator Mark Pryor of Arkansas.
