She was educated at the Prince Edward Island School of Nursing. The first actively practising Registered Nurse elected to the PEI Legislature, Beth resides in Meadowbank, PEI with her husband Bruce (married in 1986) and youngest daughter Cassie, a Bachelor of Science student at UPEI. Oldest daughter Vanessa is a medic with the Canadian Armed Forces and resides in Edmonton with her husband Cameron. Son Heath is employed as a driller with an Edmonton company.
