Bertie McMinn is a former footballer MEH of the Irish Football League. He made his debut as a 16 year old on 5-10-74. McMinn played in the losing County Antrim Shield Final of 1981/82 and got the only winners medal of his Distillery F.C. career in the CAS of 1985/86, helping the Whites to defeat Ballymena United 3-1. In March, 1988, he became player-manager, but later resigned in September, 1988, after a disagreement with the Chairman. McMinn moved on to play for (and later manage) Ards F.C.
