Bitva skončila naprostým byzantským vítězstvím a Itálie tak již byla pevně v rukou Byzantinců. Bitva také dokazuje sílu byzantské armády a skvělé velitelské schopnosti jejich generála.

Questa battaglia fu preceduta dalla totale distruzione da parte dei Franchi, delle città di Gubbio e Bevagna, importanti municipi romani. Quando i Franchi entrarono nei paesi, la popolazione era quasi scomparsa a causa di una precedente invasione dei Goti che aveva portato un'epidemia di peste. Le città non furono nemmeno saccheggiate, semplicemente rase al suolo: templi abbattuti, a partire dai colonnati, terme distrutte, bagni avvelenati, teatri bruciati come bruciate tutte furono le case delle città.
