Barbara Windsor, MBE (born Barbara Ann Deeks on 6 August 1937) is an English actress. Her best known roles are in the Carry On films and as Peggy Mitchell in the BBC soap opera EastEnders; she is now considered by many to be something of a British national institution.

In den 1960er Jahren war sie mit Reggie Kray zusammen. 1994 wurde Barbara Windsor die Rolle der Peggy Mitchell in der populären BBC-Serie EastEnders angeboten. Nach einem Fall von Entkräftung war sie für zwei Jahre von 2003–2005 nicht auf dem Bildschirm zu sehen. Für zwei Episoden dieser Serie kehrte sie 2004 zurück, bevor sie 2005 einen Vertrag über ein weiteres Jahr unterschrieb.
