Banque et Caisse d'Épargne de l'État, abbreviated to BCEE, is a Luxembourgish bank, established and owned by the Luxembourgish government. Founded in 1856 as a savings bank, its competences were expanded over time, culminating in its transformation by Grand Ducal decree into a full service bank on 25 October 1944. Nowadays, it provides all the functions of a commercial bank, including retail banking and private banking.

  • Die Banque et Caisse d'Epargne de l'Etat (kurz BCEE; lux. Spuerkeess) ist die staatliche Bank und Sparkasse in Luxemburg. Die Bank wurde per Gesetz vom 21. Februar 1856 durch Großherzog Guillaume III. zunächst als Caisse d'Epargne de l'Etat du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg gegründet. Im Jahre 2005 wurde mit 1.580 Mitarbeitern und einer Bilanzsumme von 39 Mrd. Euro ein Nettogewinn von fast 100 Mio. Euro erwirtschaftet. Im Großherzogtum betreibt die BCEE ein Filialnetz mit 77 Geschäftsstellen, der Hauptsitz der Bank liegt in der Landeshauptstadt. Im Jahr 1995 eröffnete die Bank in der Schalterhalle ihres ehemaligen Hauptsitzes auf 650 m² ein Museum. Die internationalen Ratingagenturen Standard & Poors und Moody's stufen die BCEE angesichts ihrer grundsoliden Finanzlage, sowie ihres einzigen Aktionärs, des luxemburgischen Staates, mit AA+/A-1+ beziehungsweise mit AAA/P-1 ein, welche die besten Ratings am Finanzplatz Luxemburg sind.
