Dies ist ein wesentliches Kriterium für Niedrigenergiefahrzeuge. Design muss sich auch nach der Fertigungstechnologie richten. Neue Möglichkeiten wie der Einsatz von Faserverstärkten Kunststoffen oder Hydroforming von Aluminium ermöglichen leichte und sichere Konstruktionen.
