ATS (Automobili Turismo e Sport) was an Italian automotive constructor and racing team that operated between 1963 and 1965, formed after the famous "Palace Revolution" at Ferrari. The company was formed by Carlo Chiti and Giotto Bizzarrini, among others - intending for it to be a direct competitor to Ferrari both on the race track and on the street. Chiti and Bizzarrini built, with sponsorship from the Scuderia Serenissima's Count Giovanni Volpi, a road-going sports car and a Formula One car.

The engine was a mid-mounted 2.5 L V8 engineered by Chiti, capable of achieving 245 hp (180 kW) and accelerating to 257 km/h (160 mph). Only 12 cars were reportedly built, and few exist today. The F1 car was the Tipo 100, a 1.5 L V8 engine powering a chassis that was a virtual copy of the outdated Ferrari 156. Drivers Phil Hill and Giancarlo Baghetti, also fleeing from Ferrari during a period of political turmoil, were signed to driver the new car, but a dismal season forced to Chiti to close the door on the racing team. The ATS would later be used in the Derrington-Francis F1 project spearheaded by Stirling Moss' former mechanic, Alf Francis. Count Volpi subsequently backed the Serenissima marque which used much technology similar to ATS. Bruce McLaren used a Serenissima engine for a few Grands Prix in 1966. After the demise of ATS, Bizzarrini moved to Lamborghini before building his own cars as Bizzarrini, while Chiti founded Autodelta, which would work closely with Alfa Romeo for the following decades.

Esordì nel 1963 al Gran Premio del Belgio con Phil Hill e Giancarlo Baghetti: entrambi si ritirarono per problemi alla trasmissione dopo essere partiti dal fondo dello schieramento. Negli altri GP le A-T-S non ottenennero risultati significativi. Addirittura nel Gran Premio d'Italia Hill terminò undicesimo a 7 giri dal vincitore Jim Clark; Baghetti finì 15° (e ultimo) a 23 giri. Al termine della stagione il sogno di un'altra scuderia italiana competitiva svanì. Nel 1964 Vic Derrington e Alf Francis iscrissero una vettura A-T-S al gran premio d'Italia con il pilota portoghese Mario Araujo de Cabral, che però non concluse la gara. Il marchio A-T-S è stato impiegato anche per una coupé stradale, la 2500 GT, progettata da Chiti e Bizzarrini e disegnata da Franco Scaglione: il motore era un V8 di 2,5 litri. La "GT", prodotta come la "Tipo 100" per contrastare la Ferrari, non ebbe successo: nonostante le sue qualità, fu costruita in appena 12 esemplari.

Bizzarrini zou ATS al snel verlaten om zich bezig te houden met ASA. Om in de Formule 1 voet aan de grond te krijgen ging ATS samenwerken met het in geldnood zittende Scuderia Serenissima. De wagen werd de ATS Tipo 100 met een 1,5 L V8. Als coureurs kwamen Giancarlo Baghetti en Phil Hill over van Ferrari. In 1964 verlaat Carlo Chiti ATS en richt Autodelta op om samen te gaan werken met Alfa Romeo. De ATS Tipo 100 werd nog gebruikt als basis bij het Derrington-Francis Formule 1-project van Stirling Moss.
